What’s in a Name?

Lost Dog Creek was named after Steamboat Springs settler John Crawford's hunting dog who went missing in the area while he was hunting bear on a tributary of the Elk River. Lost Creek meanders north of the Seedhouse Campground and Guard Station in North Routt County.
