What’s in a Name?

Cattle rustler Joe Ward built the first portion of his house in Yampa, CO in 1883. The Van Camp family acquired the homestead when Ward was asked to leave the area. This building once served as a stage stop and sported a sod roof until the early 1940’s. A barn and stable stood in what is now a vacant lot south of the building.
