What's in a Name?

Peak 11,810', also known as the "Goosenest", is located within the Zirkel Wilderness north of Steamboat Springs and situated along the Continental Divide. The USGS first placed a bench mark on Peak 11,810' in 1911, and was nicknamed "Goosenest" by Colorado mountaineer Robert Ormes. More recently Big Agnes staff has rechristened the peak "House of the Cobra Chicken".
