What's in a Name?
Of all the things that could have been in the Yampa Valley, the Stagecoach Ski Resort is perhaps the biggest “what if?” of them all. Operating only for a short time between 1972-1974, the ski resort faced financial problems and was forced to close after the 1974 season. Among the short-lived trails were Smoknaxle, Quicksand, Turkey Trot, and Overland Mail.
