What’s in a Name?

The steep and rocky Manzanares trail, located in the Dome Peak roadless area north of Steamboat, passes through large, old-growth timber before entering the Mount Zirkel Wilderness. Views of water-lily strewn Hinman Lake are one of the attractions of the Hinman Creek trail that, along with the Coulton Creek Trail, is accessible early in the season due to their low elevations. The Dome Peak area receives low use and is excellent for the hiker seeking solitude, and a little sweat.
