What’s in a Name?
Frank Sandhofer had his eggs in many baskets: He owned houses in Hahns Peak Village, was a vegetable farmer, and struck gold ore in the area in 1908. The Sandhofer Houses became prime real estate in the area, as the corresponding Sandhofer Ditch provided ample irrigation for farming. One of the houses was turned into the post office for many years.
