We’ve traveled the globe for the best of the best in fabrics, materials, and construction in an effort to design tents that will withstand the test of time, wind, dirt, and kids.
mtnGLO® Tent Light Technology
Light up the backcountry using durable LED technology to illuminate the interior of your tent with enough light to sort gear, play cards, and hang out with friends without blinding them with a bright beam of light. A simple push button controller with three settings - on, off and 50% brightness- controls the mtnGLO® lights. LED light strand in integrated into tent seams and is durable and flexible enough to withstand repeated tent pitching and stuffing. Requires three AAA batteries (not included) to operate the mtnGLO® light controller. The Light strand can also be powered by any USB source.see all mtnGLO tents
DAC tent poles
DAC makes their poles from a proprietary aluminum alloy that allows them to build thin walled tent poles with a high strength to weight ratio. Pressfit™ connectors eliminate the main causes of tent pole failure and Reverse Combi™ architecture allows for wider head room without adding extra poles. DAC eliminates the chemical polishing stage and reduces the need for these two hazardous chemicals, resulting in safer manufacturing conditions. DAC also recycles wastewater which reduces water use and creates significantly less wastewater.
Dominico Textile makes some of the lightest and strongest fabric available to us for tent fabric. Strong enough for parachutes and paragliders, Dominico is known the world over for its quality, consistency and durability but is lesser known in the outdoor industry. We’ve chosen to use technical Dominico fabrics on nearly all of our ultralight and superlight tents along with the 3+ season Foidel Canyon and our Battle Mountain mountaineering tents.
Sleeping Bag Technology
We are committed to making sleeping bags that mimic your cozy bed at home as much as possible with the highest quality, lofty fills and soft, technical fabrics.
The Big Agnes System
The Big Agnes System is different than the traditional sleeping bag on top of a sleeping pad. Instead, we unite the two. With Big Agnes, the pad slides into an integrated sleeve on the bottom of the bag, and the top two-thirds of the bag is insulated in the traditional style. When insulation material is compressed under your body, it loses most of its ability to insulate. We eliminate the unnecessary bottom insulation and replace it with a sleeve to accommodate the pad which provides the insulation. This design provides a secure foundation and keeps you on the pad all night.see the bags
Responsible Down Standard
At Big Agnes, we are committed to using sustainable products wherever and whenever possible, including the down we use for our sleeping bags and outerwear. We strongly believe in using only down that comes from ducks & geese that were treated ethically, so we, as a company, have committed to the “Responsible Down Standard”. All of the down Big Agnes purchases for our products comes from an RDS Certified supplier.
DownTek™ Water Repellent Down Insulation
Down sleeping bag insulation has long been the favorite of backpackers, thru-hikers, and mountaineers due to its relative light weight and ability to pack down small. While down bags generally cost more and require more care to keep dry in humid conditions, the soft feel of down is unsurpassed and extremely popular. Big Agnes features DownTek™ water repellent down insulation in all of our down sleeping bags.
Pinneco Core® is a synthetic insulation designed to be more breathable, thermally efficient and sustainably engineered. Pinneco’s Core Screen™ resists water from outside, while the Core Fusion™ technology seals the insulation like an air pump, actively drawing sweat from inside the garment.
